360 Inspections

Overview

To explore a 360 inspection, open the inspection → click the Actions button → 360 Preview, then drag to look around, use the area strip along the bottom to jump between rooms, and click a coloured pin to open its photo, note or action.

Open the inspection

From a property or tenancy, open the Inspections list and click the inspection you want to review.

Look at a single area's 360 image

Open an area from the inspection and click its 360 image in the photo grid. It opens on its own (titled with the area and item name) so you can look around that one shot. This single-image view is view-only.

Open the full 360 walkthrough

To move through the whole property, click the Actions button (top right) and choose 360 Preview. This opens the interactive viewer with every room's 360 images and the connections between them.

Note: The 360 Preview action only appears once an inspection actually has 360 images, and never while it is still scheduled. If you can't see it, no 360 images were captured for this inspection.

Look around a 360 image

Drag to turn on the spot

Click and drag (or swipe on a touch screen) to turn and look in any direction. The view slowly auto-spins on its own until you touch it, then stops so you can steer.

Zoom in and out

Scroll the mouse wheel, or pinch on a touch screen, to zoom in for a closer look at a detail or out to take in the whole room.

Check which way you're facing

The small compass on the right of the image turns as you move, showing the direction you're currently looking.

Move between areas

Use the area strip

Along the bottom of the 360 Preview, a strip of round thumbnails lists one image per area. Click any thumbnail to jump straight to that room.

Follow a connector into the next room

A connector pin (purple, marked with an arrow) sits where one room opens into another. Click it to walk through into the connected room, the same way you'd move through the property.

Switch between a room's two views

Find the door toggle

Where a room was captured twice (for example once with a door or wardrobe open and once closed), a door icon appears in the top-right corner of the image. It only shows for rooms that have a second shot.

Flip between the two shots

Click the door icon to switch between the open and closed views of that same room. The pins update to match whichever view you're looking at.

Open a pin to see its detail

Click a pin

Click any pin on the image to open its detail. A photo, or a gallery you click through with arrows if several were taken at that spot, with any note or action shown underneath.

Read the pin colours

The colour tells you what a pin is: blue is a photo, teal is a note, red is a flagged issue, amber is an action to follow up, and purple (with an arrow) is a connector to another room.

Reposition a pin

Grab the pin

In the 360 Preview, press and hold a pin until it wobbles, then drag it across the image to where it should sit.

Let go to save

Release the pin in its new spot. The position saves automatically, no separate save needed.

Note: You can only reposition pins from the full 360 Preview on a desktop with a mouse (the drag isn't wired for touch screens); the single-image view opened from an area's photo grid is view-only. Moving a pin only changes where it sits on the image. The photo, note or action behind it stays the same.

Good to know

360 images are captured during the inspection itself with a 360 camera. The web app is where you review and move through them, not where you take them.
360 images are included in the shared inspection report: when you share a completed inspection, the property owner can open each 360 image from the report and look around it.
Deleting an area removes that area and its photos, including any 360 images, permanently and it can't be undone, so only delete an area you're sure you don't need.
Press Escape to close the 360 Preview overlay (and the single-image viewer).

Frequently asked questions

Why can't I see the 360 Preview button?

The 360 Preview action only shows once an inspection has 360 images and has moved past the scheduled stage. If it's missing, no 360 images were captured for that inspection.

Can I move a pin, and does that change the note?

Yes, from the full 360 Preview. Press and hold a pin, drag it, and let go to save its new spot. It only moves where the pin sits on the image; the photo, note or action behind it stays the same. The single-image view opened from an area is view-only.

How do I delete a 360 photo?

Open the area, click Select Photos, tick the 360 image and click Delete. This only works while the inspection is still open. Once it is complete the photos are locked as part of the record, which is why the option disappears. Deleting is permanent.

Can I move a 360 photo to another area?

Don't move a 360 image between areas. Moving a photo saves a fresh copy in the new area and removes the original, and the 360 information isn't carried across, so a moved 360 becomes a flat, ordinary photo and loses its interactive walkthrough view. Keep 360s in the area where they were captured.
