Connect Your Bank Feed to Keyhook
Overview
Keyhook receives your trust-account transactions automatically through Akahu, New Zealand's Open Banking provider, so they're ready to reconcile in your bank feed. You connect once from Agency → Connected Bank Account → Connect with Akahu, then log in and approve on Akahu's secure screen. Keyhook never sees or stores your bank login — you enter it on Akahu's screen, and Akahu (ISO 27001-certified, backed by Westpac NZ) shares only the transactions you approve. Find your bank below and follow its steps.
Before you start
Important: Log in with your personal (individual) bank login — not a business login — even when the account is a business or trust account. A business login can't complete the Open Banking connection, and this is the most common reason a connection or account doesn't work.
BNZ
Note: The account must be visible in your personal BNZ app; if it isn't, call BNZ to add it to your personal login first. Term deposit, KiwiSaver, managed fund and FX accounts can't be connected, and some BNZ business accounts aren't supported — see Akahu's account support notes if an account is missing.
ANZ
Note: You must be registered for the ANZ goMoney app, and the login must be issued to you as an individual (not a business login). If your trust account isn't already under that login, call ANZ to complete their Customer Select process first. For a credit-card account you must be the primary cardholder. KiwiSaver, managed fund and FX accounts can't be connected, and some ANZ business accounts aren't supported — see Akahu's account support notes.
Westpac
Note: You must be registered for Westpac One and use those credentials; if you've never activated it, set that up with Westpac first. KiwiSaver, managed fund and FX accounts can't be connected, and some Westpac business accounts aren't supported — see Akahu's account support notes.
ASB
Note: The account must be visible in your personal ASB app; if it isn't, call ASB to add it to your personal login first. Term deposit, KiwiSaver, managed fund and FX accounts can't be connected, and some ASB business accounts aren't supported — see Akahu's account support notes if an account is missing.
After you connect
Note: Manage or disconnect any account you've connected through Akahu at my.akahu.nz. Disconnecting it there stops its feed into Keyhook.
Frequently asked questions
Is it safe to connect my bank this way?
Yes. You log in on Akahu's secure screen, never in Keyhook, so Keyhook never sees or stores your bank credentials. Akahu is New Zealand's regulated Open Banking provider — ISO 27001-certified and backed by Westpac NZ — and shares only the transaction data you consent to.
My trust or business account isn't in the list to select — why?
Almost always because it isn't visible under your personal (individual) bank login. Make sure you can see it in your bank's personal app (BNZ and ASB), or that it's linked to your individual login via ANZ's Customer Select process, then try again. Some business accounts and product types — term deposit, KiwiSaver, managed fund and FX — can't be connected.
I've connected the account but no transactions have appeared.
The first import can take a little while. If transactions still don't show up after that, Akahu's NZ-based team can help with connection issues (akahu.nz/contact) — or contact Keyhook Support for anything on the Keyhook side.
How do I disconnect or change which accounts are shared?
Manage every account you've connected through Akahu at my.akahu.nz. Disconnecting an account there stops its feed into Keyhook.
Which banks can I connect?
BNZ, ANZ, Westpac and ASB, through Akahu Open Banking. If your bank isn't listed, contact Keyhook Support to check current options.
