Listings

Overview

To advertise a property, open it → the Listings tab → click the Actions button → New Listing, work through the listing wizard, then on the Publish your listing step choose where to advertise and click Publish listing. Manage a live listing from its dashboard — Share Listing or QR Code, Edit it to pause notifications, or Withdraw listing.

Create and publish a listing
1
Open the property's Listings
From the left menu, click Properties and open the property, then click the Listings tab.
2
Start a new listing
Click the Actions button (top right) and choose New Listing. If the property has been listed before, Keyhook pre-fills the wizard with the details from the previous listing.
3
Work through the listing details
The wizard steps you through the property type, features, tenant requirements (pets, smoking, max tenants), rent and bond, the available-from date, tags, description and photos. Click Next through each step.
4
Add the photos
On the photos step, upload your listing photos — you need at least 3 before the listing can publish.
5
Preview the listing
The wizard shows you a preview of the advert — click the card to see how it will look to renters before it goes out.
6
Choose where to advertise
On the Publish your listing step, pick the platforms to advertise on. Keyhook's own sites plus Real Estate NZ, OneRoof, Trovit and Rentola are included automatically (free). Trade Me Property is the paid optional extra you opt into.
7
Publish
Click Publish listing. For an agency, the listing goes live straight away and appears on your Listings dashboard, where you'll find its enquiries and applications.

Note: You need at least 3 photos before Keyhook will publish the listing. For property managers, the premium Trade Me upgrade is billed per your agency's contract terms — no card on file is required.

Share a listing link or QR code
1
Open the listing dashboard
From the Listings dashboard, open the listing you want to share.
2
Copy the direct link
On the Listing Advertisements card, click Share Listing, then click Copy in the Share this listing window to copy the direct link.
3
Get the QR code instead
On the same card, click QR Code to open the Listing QR Code window — renters can scan it to open the listing page directly.
Pause enquiry notifications
1
Open the listing's Edit page
Open the listing and click Edit in the listing menu bar (alongside Dashboard, Enquiries, Applications and Viewings).
2
Turn on Pause notifications
Scroll to the Listing Settings section and switch on Pause notifications.
3
Save
Click Update Listing.

Note: Pausing only stops the notifications — the listing stays live and renters can still enquire and apply. Auto-withdraw listing in the same section is on by default, so Keyhook takes the advert down on its own once a tenancy is confirmed — switch it off there if you want the advert to stay up afterwards.

Withdraw a listing
1
Open the listing
Open the listing you want to take down from the Listings dashboard.
2
Start the withdrawal
Click the Actions button (top right) and choose Withdraw listing.
3
Confirm
Click Withdraw to confirm. The listing is removed from all platforms.

Note: Once a listing is withdrawn, additional fees may be required to re-post it — withdraw only when the property is genuinely no longer being advertised.

Frequently asked questions

Does publishing put my listing live straight away?

Yes — the listing goes live and starts advertising as soon as you click Publish listing.

How many photos do I need to publish?

At least 3. Keyhook won't let the listing publish until you've added them, and the first photo is used as the main image.

Do enquiries stop when I pause notifications?

No — pausing only stops the notifications reaching you. Renters can still enquire and apply, and everything still lands on the listing. Auto-withdraw listing is on by default, so the advert is taken down automatically once a tenancy is confirmed — switch it off if you want the advert to stay up.

How do I take a listing back down?

Use Withdraw listing — it removes the advert from every platform and ends the listing. (Note additional fees may apply to re-post it later.)

Can I change a listing after it's published?

Yes — open the listing and click Edit to update the description, price, photos, features and settings, then click Update Listing. If you re-list the same property later, Keyhook pre-fills the wizard from the previous listing.
