Manage Inspections

Overview

To manage an inspection, open it from the property's Inspections card, then use the Actions button (top right) → Copy-paste inspection to copy it onto another property, or Delete to remove it. To move or delete its photos, open an area and click Select Photos.

Open the property

From the left menu, click Properties and select the property (or open it from the Dashboard).

Scroll to the Inspections card and click the inspection you want to work on. Its detail page opens with an Actions button at the top right.

Copy an inspection onto another property

Create the destination inspection

On the property you're copying to, open the Inspections card and click New inspection to create the inspection that will receive the data (or open an existing one). You copy into an inspection that already exists, so it must be created first.

Copy the destination's ID

With that destination inspection open, click the Actions button and choose Copy Inspection ID — the ID is copied to your clipboard.

Open the source inspection

Go to the inspection you want to copy the data from, and click its Actions button.

Start the copy

Choose Copy-paste inspection. In Destination Inspection ID, paste the ID you copied.

Confirm

Click Confirm. Keyhook copies the inspection and opens the destination; the source inspection is left unchanged.

Note: This copies the source inspection's rooms, photos and notes into the destination inspection you name — it doesn't create a new one, so set up the destination inspection first.

Move or delete photos

Open the area

Open the inspection and click into the room or area holding the photos you want to change.

Turn on selection

Click Select Photos, then tick each photo you want. The bar shows how many are selected.

Move them to another area

Click Move. In the Move photos to another area window, pick the destination inspection area — and, for a detailed report, the item name — then click Move again.

Or delete them

Click Delete instead, then confirm in the Delete Photos prompt. This removes only the selected photos, not the inspection.

Note: Photos in the Flagged area can't be moved to another area.

Delete an inspection

Open the Delete action

On the inspection's detail page, click the Actions button and choose Delete.

Confirm with the inspection ID

In the WARNING - Delete Inspection window, type the inspection ID shown into the box — the Delete button stays disabled until it matches.

Delete

Click Delete. The inspection is removed and you're returned to the previous page.

Note: Deleting an inspection hides it from every view in Keyhook — you can't get it back yourself, so copy it to another property first if you need the data. The inspection's record, photos and notes are retained behind the scenes and can only be restored by Keyhook.

Frequently asked questions

Does copying an inspection change the original?

No. The original (source) inspection is left exactly as it was — its rooms, photos and notes are copied into the destination inspection you name.

How do I find the destination inspection's ID?

Open the inspection you're copying into, click the Actions button and choose Copy Inspection ID. You'll need to create that destination inspection first (via the property's Inspections card → New inspection).

I right-clicked a photo but there's no move option — where did it go?

Moving photos is no longer a right-click action. Open the area, click Select Photos, tick the photos, then click Move and choose the destination area.

Why can't I move or delete some photos?

Photos in the Flagged area can't be moved to another area. Aside from that, you can select photos and move or delete them from an inspection's areas.

Can I get an inspection back after deleting it?

Not on your own — deleting an inspection hides it from every view in Keyhook. Its record, photos and notes are retained behind the scenes and can be restored by Keyhook, but you can't recover it yourself, so copy it to another property first if you need the data.
