What the yellow highlight means

Overview

On any table list page — Tenancies, Properties, Property Owners, Maintenance or Inspections — the last record you opened is shaded yellow when you come back to the list. Only one row is highlighted at a time, and it moves as you open the next record, so you can quickly pick up where you left off.

Spot the yellow highlight

Open a list page

From the left menu, open any table list page — for example Tenancies, Properties, Property Owners, Maintenance or Inspections.

Open a record

Click a row to open that record's details.

Go back to the list

Return to the list page, using your browser's Back button or the left menu.

Spot the highlighted row

The record you just opened now shows as a yellow row, so you can see at a glance where you were in the list.

Note: The yellow highlight is only a visual cue to help you keep your place — it never means an error, a warning, or that the record needs action.

How the highlight follows your work

It moves as you open records

Only one row is ever highlighted. As soon as you open a different record, the yellow highlight moves to that row — it always marks the single record you most recently opened.

It holds your place

The highlight stays put when you leave the list and come back within the same browser tab, so you don't lose your place while switching between screens.

Check the colour

A yellow row is the record you most recently opened. A blue row is one you've ticked with its checkbox to act on — for example to send notices to several tenancies at once.

They work independently

The last-opened highlight and your ticked rows are tracked separately — ticking or unticking a row's checkbox never changes which record is highlighted, and opening a record never changes what you've ticked.

If the highlight clears or you want to reset it

Reset the table

Click Reset on the list's toolbar to return the table to its defaults — this also clears the yellow highlight.

Understand when it resets on its own

The highlight isn't stored in a saved view, and it's remembered only for the current browser tab — so opening the list in a new tab, or after closing the browser, starts with no row highlighted.

Why is one row shaded yellow?

It's the last record you opened from that list. Keyhook highlights it so you can quickly find your place again when you come back from viewing a record.

Can more than one row be yellow at once?

No — only ever one. The highlight marks a single record (the one you opened most recently), and it moves to the next record as soon as you open a different one.

Does the yellow highlight mean something is wrong?

No. It's purely a visual bookmark for your most recently opened record. It doesn't flag an error, a warning, or anything that needs action.

What's the difference between the yellow row and the blue rows?

Yellow marks the single record you most recently opened. Blue marks rows you've ticked with their checkboxes to run a bulk action on. The two are tracked independently, so ticking rows doesn't change which record is highlighted, and vice versa.

The highlight disappeared — why?

Clicking Reset on the table clears it, and it isn't kept in a saved view. It's also remembered only for the current browser tab, so a new tab (or reopening after closing the browser) starts with nothing highlighted.
